Making Space

Make space for what matters.

Often we find ourselves drowning in the messiness of life. Other times we find ourselves lost in the clutter of too many good things. As a new season approaches, let Love lead you in a rediscovery of the treasures that are most important to you; to sift out, sort through, and set aside the disarray of your heart and that which no longer serves you. Keep only that which adds value to your life, and leads you deeper in the Way of Love.

Enough

You already have everything you need.

In preparation for an art show I pulled pieces from around my house for the presentation of my designs. Little by little, things started to come together. Threads from different seasons of my life —a bird’s nest here, crystals there, a bust from an old endeavor— all came together into something splendid and new.

Along the journey we collect pieces of who we think we are and what we feel were meant bring to this world. We accumulate until we feel like we have “enough” to present, but the truth is this: You are enough. Just as you are. Everything you need is within you. Share your beauty with the world.

Inconvenience to Invitation

Let delay lead you to delight.

A year ago I was returning home from a personal retreat. The snow was falling thick along Amish country backroads, which were increasingly becoming unsafe, and I was questioning if I had chosen the right route. Then, at a four way stop, a giant snow plow turned onto my path. Grateful, I inched my way home behind the massive vehicle, which practically escorted me home, all the while reveling in the beauty that was unfolding around me. The drive took me three times longer. And it was glorious.

Delay is mistaken for inconvenience, but it’s true nature is the invitation to slow down and be, and live, fully present.
